ORGAN DONATION
Transplantation saves lives, but only if you help.
All you need to do is say yes to organ and tissue donation
on your donor card and/or driver's license, sign up on your state’s
donor registry (if there is one), and discuss your decision with your family.
Each day about 70 people receive an organ transplant,
but another 16 people on the waiting list die because
not enough organs are available.
Talk to your family members about organ and tissue donation
so they know your wishes.
Even if you've signed something, your family may be asked
to give consent before donation can occur.

HEALTHY SNACKS
Because the school district has a strong interest in promoting the health
of children, the Carter County School District has passed a resolution
that removes all pop machines and snack machines (high sugar/high fat snacks)
from the school buildings.
The district has offered an alternative list of healthy snacks that you may consider.
In place of birthday cupcakes we ask that you consider pizza or a treat from the
list of healthy snacks. Exceptions may be made during Halloween, Christmas
and other holiday parties.
We do ask your help with the spirit of the resolution by not sending pop or
high sugar/ high fat snacks to school in your child's lunch or for class treats.
